Whether you're designing the water installations for a greenhouse in the Westland or a project in Texas, your designs are watertight.
What you'll be doing:
As a Project Engineer Water Technology, you develop all water-technical installations for our projects down to the finest detail. You engineer high‑tech systems for greenhouses or climate chambers, such as drip irrigation, ebb-and-flow systems, misting installations, and NFT-systems. You work in projectteams alongside specialists in electrical engineering, structural engineering, and climate technology. You also design the complete water-technical room, including silos, water units, and valves. In other words, you take care of everything related to water within our projects.
Your responsibilities include:
Creating layout drawings and production drawings in AutoCAD and HiCAD;
Designing flow diagrams (P&ID);
Preparing approval drawings with cross‑sections of your installations;
Calculating and ordering materials;
Coordinating delivery times with suppliers;
Producing installation drawings for the construction teams.
The best part of your work? Every project is unique: always tailored to the client’s needs, suitable for different crops, and built to withstand various weather conditions. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit projects to learn on-site, and you’ll typically work on one to three projects at the same time.
Within our small and close‑knit team, we maintain a collegial and open working atmosphere. We can always turn to one another with content‑related questions about each other’s expertise, making collaboration feel effortless. After work, you’ll often find colleagues playing chess, drumming, jamming on the guitar, or enjoying a game of table tennis. In this way, we combine professionalism with a pleasant and informal work environment.
Who are you?
You have completed a degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field — either as an emerging talent or as an experienced engineer with relevant work experience;
You have an affinity with the horticultural sector. Experience in horticulture is a plus, but not a requirement;
You have experience with 2D and 3D drafting (knowledge of AutoCAD and HiCAD is an advantage);
You work in a structured way, can maintain oversight, and are eager to learn;
You work accurately, can switch quickly, and have a strong eye for detail;
You have good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
What we offer you:
An exciting and varied role where you contribute to the most incredible greenhouse projects worldwide!
An informal, friendly, and ambitious work environment that’s felt throughout the company;
A team of skilled colleagues with whom you can collaborate and brainstorm to achieve great results;
An onboarding program that dives straight into the action with activities like “ff tuinen,” where you visit growers and suppliers, enjoy a guided tour of Certhon, and even tackle a horticultural escape room! You’ll learn everything about what we do and how we work, alongside a fun group of colleagues;
From paddle tennis and boxing to cooking workshops, ice bath challenges, or even sleep workshops, there’s a vitality activity every month.
